Training facilities
Our eco-building is the home of North East SCITT (formerly Shotton Hall SCITT); with state-of-the-art resources and facilities, it is one of our fantastic bases for your training with us.
Built in summer 2015 at a cost of just over £1million, our cedar-clad HQ is our teaching and learning oasis and we’re very proud of it. With a large, light training room, four classrooms and the SCITT admin nerve centre, our home gives you the space and sanctuary you need to learn the basics of teaching. Our training incorporates lesson observations in the main school just across the yard, providing a balanced combination of theory and practice from the outset of the course.
As well as boasting an impressive CV of eco-credentials, the building has been fitted with excellent facilities including 60” touch screen TVs, interactive whiteboards and personal power stations. There are also plenty of kettles to keep the coffee flowing for those early morning starts!
Traynor House
Traynor House, on the outskirts of Peterlee, is our home away from home. This is also where we find the North East Learning Trusts' bustling head office - a secure facility boasting a bright and spacious conference room.
These additional facilities support various different teaching methods thanks to the larger space and a greater flexibility for group working. The space provides a relaxed atmosphere, power supplies, long projector screens and, of course, fast internal Wifi.
